Tim Drost
Creative media & Game technologies student at HKU
I’ve been building games since I was a child, starting with Scratch and similar platforms. I used to tell my parents, “Mom, Dad, I’m going to be a game maker when I grow up.” That dream faded a little during high school, and later I started studying Commercial Economics because I was interested in the subject. But I quickly realized it didn’t make me happy; so much creativity and drive, and nothing to channel it into.
Eventually, I discovered game design. I had already been designing games for years at Craftville, for free and for fun, without even realizing it. When I realized I could turn this passion into a career, I knew immediately that this was what I wanted to do. I’ve been creating games with joy ever since, and I would do it for free if I had to.
